It's time for that thread again! Remember, post for fun, not for competition. Flagrant fanboyism and bullying comments will be removed! That said...

Arwic
OS: Artix Linux x86_64 (runit init, XFCE4 as DE)
Processor: Intel Core i5-3570K @ 4.3GHz turbo (1.24v)
Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-WS
RAM: 16GB Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3-1600 CL9
GPU: Sapphire Nitro RX 480 8GB (1266MHz core, 1925MHz VRAM)
Storage: 256GB Samsung MZ7TD256HAFV-000L7 for booting/8TB ST8000DM004-2CX188 (shucked from a external drive)
PSU: EVGA 600BQ
Other goodies: 3.5" Floppy (using a floppy to USB converter board, rather finicky, I only trust it to read)/USB Card reader, BD-XL MDISC drive, SATA hotswap bay, Logitech G710 and G502 Proteus Spectrum, Tri-head setup (AOC E2228SWDN, Insignia NS-PMG248, and Dell P2210 in order of left to right -- the P2210 is in portrait orientation on my VESA mount and the NS-PMG248 is a 144hz Freesync-capable display), CoolerMaster MasterLiquid Lite 240 AIO liquid cooler

I originally bought the (old, 4TB ST4000-something or other) storage drive as an upgrade to my main machine at the time, a Thinkpad T450 -- to my dismay it was too thick to fit in the allotted space, and I couldn't return it. So, I elected to build a machine around it -- it started as an ultramodern (at the time) Kaby Lake build that I was buying piece by piece. When the motherboard arrived DOA, and with my idiot self having lost the box in a recent move, I couldn't RMA it, I pitched it and moved to a LGA775 board with a Q9400 as a stopgap. I moved to a AM3+ board, first running an Athlon II x2 240, then a Phenom II x6 1055T overclocked to 3.36GHz, and finally an FX-6300 overclocked to 4.5GHz at 1.48v. When that board died (presumably from VRM abuse, as it wasn't a particularly amazing board to begin with) I elected to make use of an Ivy Bridge CPU I had acquired, the 3570K. It's been a wild ride, but this has been a remarkably capable machine thus far.

Samsur
OS: HFSLIP2000 Pro, Extended Kernel April 2018
Processor: AMD Athlon "Thunderbird" @ 1.33GHz
Motherboard: Soltek SL-75KAV
RAM: 768MB PC133 (3x256MB) CL3
GPU: GeForce4 Ti4200 64MB (250MHz core, 250MHz VRAM -- 500 DDR, driver 30.82)
Sound: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy2ZS Platinum (Dell OEM)
LAN: 3Com 3C-905C
Storage: 320GB IDE Seagate Barracuda 7200.10
PSU: Seasonic SS-350ET

What a wild ride this machine's been too. I originally had it hooked into a Logisys PSU for testing -- unaware at the time that Logisys PSUs were good to be recycled only. The board was unstable in operation, installing Windows was like pulling teeth, and it wouldn't dare complete a run of 3DMark2000. Thankfully I shelved rather than trashed the board -- I had planned to display it or something, since it had both AGP Pro 4x and ISA on the same board, but had half a mind to try it again with a competent power supply and thankfully it seems to be perfectly fine.

Al-Jalima
OS: Windows 98SE Lite
Processor: Pentium Pro gold-top @ 200MHz (3x66MHz)
Motherboard: Gateway2000 OEM VS440FX
RAM: 128MB (2x64MB 72-pin SIMMs) ECC EDO
GPU: PCI Voodoo Banshee 16MB (100/110, BansheeDriver V1.04.00k)
Sound: Labway A111-860 ES1868F-based ISA card
LAN: 3Com 3C-905B
Storage: 64GB Sandisk SD card in SD->IDE adapter
PSU: Seasonic SS-350ET
Other goodies: Promise Ultra66

I bought this thing as a full untested machine -- the case endured some shipping damage and the board was regular ATX, so I just recased it since it still worked. Thankfully it came with the amount of RAM I wanted pre-installed, because ECC EDO SIMMs are rarer than hens' teeth apparently -- doubly so for large-capacity ones.

I figure this is as good an introduction post as any.
